To ensure a robust installation each and every time, we use only the highest-quality materials in the production and attachment of our Power Curve add-ons.

For the manufacturing and installation of a Power Curve solution, we need two main components; our vortex generator panels and a suitable adhesive.

Vortex generator panels

Power Curve vortex generators are manufactured using plastic injection molding with multiple VG fins integrated on a baseplate.

Our plastic of choice is Luran S, an acrylonitrile styrene acrylate polymer (ASA) originally developed for automotive exterior parts. By design, it has a high resistance to UV lighting and climate wear.

It is an extremely strong and flexible material, as well, able to endure considerable strains and stresses, retaining its rigidity in temperatures between -20°C and 80°C.

All in all, it is a highly reliable thermoplast that allows our VG panels to be securely attached on wind turbine blades.

Adhesive technology

For attachment of our VG panels, we use epoxy-based adhesives. Widely used in structural repairs, epoxy-based adhesives ensure rock-solid and lasting VG panel attachment to the blade and are in full structural agreement with the blade stresses and strains.

Our default adhesive is Plexus MA310, a two-component solution mixed 1-to-1 upon application. For installation in low or high temperatures, we use solutions suitable for the conditions.

We have adhesives for use in temperatures down to 5°C. Even at low temperatures, we can achieve adequate curing for continued turbine operation after 2 hours, ensuring reduced turbine downtime.
